Business leaders from financial services and other firms will explore the future of analytics in decision making at the FICO Forum Africa, on 17 and 18 July at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton. Hosted by analytics software firm FICO, which has a long history in South Africa, the event will cover topics ranging from artificial intelligence and advanced machine learning to risk and fraud management, collections and digital transformation.
FICO Forum Africa will feature top analysts, business consultants and other industry stakeholders, as well as FICO experts from Europe and the United States. Highlights include:
- A keynote address by Dr. Thabi Leoka, leading Asset Manager and ABSIP Economist of the Year 2017, who will discuss economic growth in Africa, and her forecast for the financial services industry
- A presentation by Amazon Web Services and FICO on bringing decision management, analytics and optimization to the cloud
- A look at current trends in AI and the need for explainable machine learning, from FICO’s Chief Analytics Officer, Dr. Scott Zoldi
- Presentations from ABSA, African Bank, Medscheme, Nedbank and Liberty Holdings, who will share key insights on how they have advanced their decision strategies working with FICO
The two-day event will provide a platform for industry peers to network on the latest thoughts, innovations, projects and strategies influencing their markets.
“Our main objective is to help our clients serve and protect their customers, whilst generating profitable and sustainable growth,” said Derick Cluley, country manager, FICO South Africa. “Through this annual forum, we get to engage and share ideas with African decision-makers first-hand. It’s a great space for us to gain better understanding of issues directly affecting the region, and for participants to get the latest updates and best practices on managing risk, improving customer experiences, and using analytics to advance their decision management.”
Sponsored charity organization
FICO Forum Africa will sponsor Ubuntu Pathways as its featured charity for this annual conference - a non-profit organization that provides an integrated support system of health, education, and social support in the townships of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Proceeds from this 2-day event, which takes place during South Africa’s yearly commemorations of Nelson Mandela, will be donated to Ubuntu Pathways as a way of helping the organization in furthering its cause. Last year, FICO Forum Africa was able to donate over R170, 000 from its attendee registration proceeds.
