Ferrari owners kick off the festive season with the annual Shell V-Power SEFAC Experience Day

This year Shell headlined the Shell V-Power SEFAC Experience day for the second year in a row on Saturday 08 December 2018 at the Kyalami Grand Prix race track. Expertly organised by Southern Equitorial Ferrari Automobili Club (SEFAC) and proudly sponsored by Shell V-Power, the day is one occasion when members of the world’s oldest Ferrari owners’ club have unrivalled access to this challenging circuit. The event hosted  one of the largest gatherings of Ferraris from Maranello in the Southern Hemisphere, who came together once again for a spectacular day on the track with gates opening at 09H00. All proceeds raised from ticket sales on the day were donated to charity.

The Experience day started shortly after the track was built, with a small collection of a dozen or so cars, the event has now grown to one of immense proportions, having catered for as many as up to two hundred Ferrari’s and over a thousand owners and guests. In previous years the event has been held in July and September, mainly to guarantee the weather, but this year it was held on a partly cloudy summer’s day in December.

“As a title sponsor of the Shell V-Power SEFAC Experience Day for the second year, for us it was about continuing to make our mark through memorable experiences with our valued customers and at the same time celebrating the long standing Shell Technical Partnership with Ferrari that has contributed to the development of fuel technology designed to deliver improved performance,” says Shell Brand, Fuels and Customer Experience Manager at Shell SA Domnick-Sipho Nkhatu. “Hosting this event at the end of the year was timely in that we were able to thank our customers for a great year and wish them a safe festive season on the roads.”

Shell globally spends more than 21 000 hours in research and development of fuels.  The technical partnership with Ferrari Scuderia allows Shell scientists to test new fuels formulation, ensuring that customers get the best fuel technology possible.
