The 13th Manufacturing Indaba has officially concluded—and what an extraordinary two days it has been.
From inspiring addresses by Deputy President Paul Mashatile, Minister Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, Deputy Minister John Steenhuisen, MEC Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, and other distinguished government and industry leaders, to engaging panel discussions featuring experts from across Africa and around the world, the conference deliveredmeaningful dialogue on the future of manufacturing, industrialisation and investment.
In his keynote address, Deputy President Mashatile reminded delegates that, "the future of South Africa should not solely be determined by extraction of its natural resources in their raw form but by the manufacturing, refinement, and exportation of finished products." He further encouraged business, government and industry to work together to create jobs, strengthen local industries and position South Africa as a globally competitive manufacturing nation.
The exhibition floor was buzzing with activity as thousands of visitors engaged with a sold-out showcase of exhibitors demonstrating the latest technologies, products and manufacturing solutions. Throughout the two days, the event facilitated high-value networking, strategic business meetings and deal-making opportunities, reaffirming the Manufacturing Indaba's position as South Africa's premier platform for manufacturing business development.
This year's conference demonstrated the power of collaboration between government and the private sector. Discussions focused on industrial competitiveness, energy security, localisation, trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), investment, digital transformation and innovation—all critical drivers of Africa's industrial future.
