The Hyundai Open returns to the Sunshine Tour from 12-15 November 2026, with South Africa’s rising and established professionals set to compete at Ebotse Links Golf Course in Benoni.
The tournament forms part of Hyundai’s sixth year of association with the Sunshine Tour, a partnership that has evolved beyond event sponsorship into a broader platform supporting players, tournament operations and the development pathway into professional golf.
The next chapter of that investment will be explored through The Long Drive, a five-part documentary series following South African professionals Karabo Mokoena, Keenan Davidse, Herman Loubser, MJ Viljoen and Daniel van Tonder. The series examines the personal stories, challenges and support networks behind their professional careers, bringing Hyundai’s “Progress Powers Performance” brand philosophy to life.
“Every golfer’s journey is different but what they have in common is the determination to keep progressing,” said Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa. “Our partnership with the Sunshine Tour allows us to support that journey, from the practical support that gets players to tournaments, to creating greater visibility for the talent and stories that make South African golf so compelling.”
The impact of that support can already be seen in Casey Jarvis, winner of the inaugural Hyundai Open in 2025. Since then, Jarvis has gone on to win the Magical Kenya Open and Investec South African Open Championship back-to-back in 2026. He subsequently made his debuts at The Masters, PGA Championship and The Open.
Hyundai’s involvement also has a practical operational dimension. “As fleet and transport partner, we proudly supply Hyundai STARIA buses, luxury SUVs and vans for the local ground transportation of players, officials, staff and guests across Sunshine Tour events. We also provide year-long vehicle access to selected players, while Order of Merit rewards further support top-performing professionals,” added Anderson.
The The Long Drive teaser launches today at 16h00 on the Hyundai South Africa YouTube channel, with further distribution through SuperSport.
Anderson emphasized that for Hyundai, the Hyundai Open is therefore not simply a tournament sponsorship but part of a sustained strategy to build an association with golf while contributing to the people and infrastructure that enable South African talent to progress.
