iCAUR V27 Takes top interior design honours at 2026 Torino Automotive Design Award
  • The iCAUR V27 was named Best Interior Design in the Premium Car category at the 2026 Torino Automotive Design Award.
  • Judges praised the cabin's blend of modern styling, everyday functionality, and intuitive technology.
  • This win builds on the momentum of the V23, which earned a Red Dot Award for Design Concept earlier this year.

The iCAUR V27 has scooped up the Best Interior Design Award in the Premium Car category at the 2026 Torino Automotive Design Award (TADA), marking another major win for the growing iCAUR V Series.

Presented on 11 September in Turin, Italy, the award highlights how seamlessly the V27 pairs its rugged, boxy SUV roots with a refined, modern cabin.

Hosted by Salone Auto Torino, TADA shines a spotlight on real innovation in vehicle design. Entries are judged on overall design execution, creativity, and how well the vehicle functions in the real world—making a win in Turin, long recognised as the global home to legendary automotive design houses, particularly meaningful.

Inside, the V27 features iCAUR’s signature “Interstellar Cockpit” design language. While the exterior keeps the classic, bold proportions drivers expect from an off-roader, the cabin delivers a refreshingly uncluttered space focused on clear visibility, roominess, and effortless day-to-day usability.

An elevated driving position and generous window layout give drivers a commanding view of the road, while soft-touch materials and a sensible, intuitive control layout ensure comfort on both short commutes and long road trips.

“The V27 shows how iCAUR approaches design as something far deeper than just good looks,” says Shannon Gahagan, Head of Brand and Marketing at iCAUR and OMODA & JAECOO South Africa. “While it makes a strong visual statement on the outside, the interior has to genuinely work for people every single day. Practical details, visibility, space, and comfort are critical, especially in South Africa, where drivers count on their vehicles to handle a bit of everything.”

Highlights inside include the “Interstellar Porthole” dual panoramic sunroof, which floods the cabin with light while laminated glass blocks 99.9% of UV rays. Tech centres around a crisp 15.4-inch 2.5K touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, making controls for navigation, media, and climate control smooth and responsive.

Practicality remains front and centre, with 49 smart storage compartments scattered across the cabin and rear seats that fold completely flat to maximise cargo capacity. Soft-touch materials wrap key contact points throughout. The TADA trophy comes shortly after the V23 earned a 2026 Red Dot Design Concept Award for its bold, boxy profile.

The design award also comes ahead of the 2026 iCAUR International User Summit, which will take place in Wuhu, China, from 19 to 23 October. Bringing together users, media, and industry partners from nearly 100 countries, the event will focus on product development, user co-creation, and a culture of modification, including the debut of iCAUR’s first User Modification Carnival.

Together, the V23 and V27 showcase iCAUR’s “Future-Classic” design ethos, blending iconic SUV styling with contemporary cabin tech and thoughtful craftsmanship. As iCAUR continues expanding its new-energy vehicle line globally, this latest accolade reinforces the brand’s growing reputation for world-class automotive design.
