The Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer provides ISUZU with an opportunity to be a vehicle of hope to many

ISUZU Motors South Africa employees, their families and retirees turned out in record numbers to support the 25th edition of the Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer in Gqeberha, East London and George. The mass charity event took place on Saturday, 28 October 2023 and was proudly presented by ISUZU Motors South Africa.

The people of Gqeberha, East London and George braved the rainy conditions, often symbolic of the journey with Cancer, to walk in solidarity to unite in the fight against the disease. The event is also held to create awareness on early detection and various treatment methods while serving as a catalyst to lend a helping hand to organisations that support those affected by the disease.

The ISUZU family and community at large has a deep connection with the Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer, something that has been evident throughout the years.

“We are very intentional in supporting initiatives that respond to the social challenges confronted by our communities. For us, the Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer is more than just a walk, it is an opportunity to take action, celebrate life, bring hope, show honour and support all people affected by cancer. The Big Walk provides us with an ideal opportunity to be that vehicle of hope to many”, says ISUZU Senior Vice President Human Capital and Corporate Affairs, Mongezi Hermans.

Participants also had an opportunity to share their messages of hope on the ISUZU vehicles displayed on-route in all three locations.

The vehicles carrying these messages of hope from the walkers are currently on display and can be viewed at the Boardwalk Mall in Gqeberha. The display is set to run until 08h00 on Monday, 06 November 2023
