AutObarn SuperHatch Round 7 Zwartkops 13th October

Its back to the home circuit Zwartkops for many of the AutObarn SuperHatch drivers for the penultimate Round in the series

Brett Garland heads up class A, Louis Scholtz class B and is overall series leader, with Almero van Eck leading class C, but it’s going to be down to the wire for all the AutObarn SuperHatch classes

After a disappointing round at the Phakisa 200 race that both the AutObarn SuperHatch drivers, Brett Garland AutObarn Total Ingco Tools Honda and Jonathan Du Toit Trans Africa Racing Honda Civic a formidable and unbeatable team that were set to win comfortably from the start but failed to do so after experiencing technical problems. Racing has its ways of disappointing drivers and results and results are never cast in stone.

It will be back to the ongoing challenge for round 7 for the 4 top drivers in Class A of the AutObarn SuperHatch Series, with Du Toit and Garland picking up their ongoing clash, Brett leads the class on 76 points from Andre Dannhauser Pro Auto Rubber/Jetstik Opel Corsa on 61 points and current A Class champion Jonathan du Toit on 51 points. Garland needs two good results in round 7 to retain his lead in this class and keep ahead of rivals du Toit and Dannhauser.

“I have spent a lot of time getting the car ready and have sorted out the problems we had in Welkom both the car and I are ready for the Zwartkops round,” said Brett Garland. It’s a home track for me which is always a huge benefit, but the same applies to Jonothan and Andre, so it’s a must do for me at Zwartkops.”

Heading up Class B is dangerman Louis Scholtz Car Care Clinic Honda Civic on 109 points, 14 ahead of second placed Zane van Zyl Credit Guarantee VW Golf on 95 points with Melanie Spurr G&H/ Wealth Ave/ AKA/ Castrol/VW Polo holding 3rd place on 66 points.

In the very competitive Class C Almero van Eck Nosler VW Polo has an 18-point lead on 96 points, over Reno van Heerden KWC VW Polo on 78 points followed by third placed Robert Stoltz Jetstik Episerve Lopec Opel Kadett on 68 points.

“The Zwartkops track always gets many mote entries and organizes are expecting a much larger field for the next round so again it will be case of staying clear of all the trouble, getting through the field as quick as possible without any mishaps, and staying out front safely that would be the perfect day for me,” said AutObarn’s team driver Brett Garland
