Pre-race Media Advisory: 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship: R2, Mexico City, 11 January

Jaguar TCS Racing took victory in the opening round of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Brazil last month. Mitch Evans won the E-Prix from last on the grid, ensuring a winning start for the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 in the all-new GEN3 Evo era.

Mitch leads the Drivers’ standings with Nick in P16 after a strong performance that unfortunately did not result in any points. Jaguar TCS Racing is second in the Teams’ World Championship behind McLaren, but leads the Manufacturers’ World Championship.

The 2025 Mexico City E-Prix will be held at the 2.63km Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez circuit. Last season, Nick finished third on his Jaguar TCS Racing debut while claiming the fastest lap, with Mitch in P5. The latter took Jaguar’s sole Mexico City victory in 2020. The 2025 Mexico City E‑Prix is at 14:05 ST (GMT ‑6 hours) on Saturday, 11 January 2025.

James Barclay, Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal: “To come away from São Paulo leading two out of three championships was a great boost for the team. We know there is still a lot more to come, and we are working flat out to get the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 into the right window out on track. There is a lot of performance still to be unlocked and we are working hard to try and be in a position to have another strong weekend in Mexico City.

“Mitch and Nick showed their class in the race in Brazil and we are eager to come away from Mexico with a strong haul of points from both our drivers if we can. We enjoyed podium success last time out in Mexico City and would love to do so again this weekend. We never rest on our laurels, though, and have some areas to work on. As always, the competition is going to be very close and we look forward to the challenge.”

Jaguar TCS Racing driver Mitch Evans, #9: “To start the season with a win – especially given the circumstances from last on the grid – was a special feeling. There’s no time to look back, though, and I am expecting it to be another closely fought race in Mexico. We will be working hard to achieve another strong result.”

Jaguar TCS Racing driver Nick Cassidy, #37: “Although the São Paulo race did not end how we wanted it to, I know we have a fast race car. I am hopeful that we can find more performance in the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 and will be doing all I can to be on the podium in Mexico City.”
