The Formula One circus rolls into the second half of the 2025 season with a stop at one of its most iconic venues: Spa-Francorchamps, home of the Belgian Grand Prix.

Nestled in the Ardennes forest, Spa is famous for its sweeping corners, high-speed straights, and – crucially – its wildly unpredictable weather. Rain is once again in the forecast, and that could throw the form book out the window.

This weekend is also a Sprint format event, adding an extra layer of pressure. With just one practice session before qualifying, teams and drivers will have limited time to dial in their setups, and mistakes could prove costly

All eyes will be on Max Verstappen, who enters the weekend with new Red Bull team boss Laurent Mekies at the helm.

While Mekies officially took over earlier this month – leaving sister team Racing Bulls - Spa marks his first full race weekend in charge of operations. Will it be a smooth transition?

Verstappen, who has historically excelled at Spa – his de facto home race – will be aiming to challenge the McLarens, Ferraris and Mercedes and perhaps make a personal statement.

But Spa is never straightforward. Every corner – in particular Eau Rouge, Pouhon and Blanchimont - punishes errors and rewards skills. The stage is set for another interesting and exciting chapter in the 2025 championship.
