Nothing to separate class leaders heading to Red Star
The ATE VW Challenge literally sits on a knife’s edge as the series heads to Red Star Raceway near Delmas for its penultimate weekend at the sixth round Gauteng Northern Regions Extreme Festival on Saturday, 10 October.
Anthony Lessing and his Raless Polo won both races last time out to grab a single-point overall and Class A title advantage over rookie Josh Moore’s Worx BPW Puma Polos. Fellow first-year racer Chris Tait’s King Price Extreme sits a further four points adrift, with Francis Aldrich, AutoZone man Stuart Mack and Dewald Theron among those snapping at their heels in Class A.
It’s just as close in Class B with Applied Heat lad Sebastian Bouilliart in a four-point lead over fellow rookie Keyaan Dwomoh’s Adhive car and Natham’s Motorsport comeback kid, Keegan Nathan, just two more points further back. They also have the ever-improving Century rookie Max Corbett, Northern Bolt & Tool youngster Jonathan Konig, GTI Generators man Chris Davison and reigning Class C champion Martin de Beer to contend with.
Class C is another melting pot with just two points between Bryce Pillay’s Phishrod Vivo, who is back in two Brat Pack lead over Northern Bolt lad Stuart Konig’s. Elna Croeser’s ATE Vivo, Dimitri Zapheriou and Andy Gossman’s Cardoc Vivo are all ready to play interference, while newcomers Hencom lad Brendon van Gend and Lebo Mokutu are out to impress.
Always ready to test drivers to their limits, Red Star is ready to dish up spectacular ATE VW Challenge action. See you in Delmas!
